KAHS offers broad curriculum

Kimball Area High School has undergone a great deal of remodeling lately. However, it is not just the building but the classes that make a good school. Kimball is not only a great place to go to high school, but a great place to go to college too. Kimball has many college courses to offer: two years of college history, two years of college math, and one year of college english. Technical college courses are offered as well, such as welding and anatomy. Students planning to go on to a four-year college or university can get more than one year of college out of the way before they leave, which ends up being a lot of saved time and money. Whether you decide to take a lighter course load in college or finish early and get into the work force is up to you. Many students go off to college only to be caught unprepared and eventually find themselves back home. This is what is best about Kimball, you take the college courses right at the high school. Our teachers have gone on to get their master’s degrees in their field, allowing them to teach these college courses. The same teacher that teaches Algebra I and II also teaches college algebra, trigonometry and calculus. This allows students to get a taste of college while still in familiar settings. Kimball also has a wide array of high school courses to take. We have a strong agricultural department with classes such as welding and natural resources. Students can study information technology, such as computer networking, computer architecture and Web design. In the science field there are classes like astronomy and physics in addition to the regular science classes. We have an impressive band as well as a good art program. With so many classes to take it can be difficult to fit everything you want into your class schedule. Of course, that is why they give you so many years in high school, and why I think Kimball is the best school. Frank Hancock, KAHS student
