Brewers shut out Express Sunday

After an hour’s rain delay, the Luxemburg Brewers hosted the Kimball Express Sunday, July 1. The weather turned beautiful: 72 degrees, light breeze, and gray-tinged cumulus clouds. Perhaps because some team members were absent, the Express were shut out, 10-0.

Reed Pfannenstein earned the win for the Brewers, pitching all seven innings. Matt Dingmann was tagged with the loss in six innings, with Andy Dingmann in relief.

Scott Marquardt got the only two hits for the Express on the game, both singles.

For the Brewers, Logan Aleshire hit two homeruns; Chase Aleshire and Austin Klaverkamp hit one apiece. The Brewers were up 5-0 after the third inning and maintained that until scoring five more runs in the bottom of the seventh to end the game early.
