The St. Cloud Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group is looking for a volunteer facilitator. Our group needs a leader to conduct our free-to-the public monthly meetings that have an average attendance of 20 people. The meetings highlight information sharing, daily living, research, guest speakers on select topics, and caregiver information. –
Parkinson’s disease (PD) affects 1.2 million Americans, and approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with PD each year.
Ten early symptoms of PD include: resting tremors, muscle rigidity, slowed movement, posture changes, weakened facial and throat muscles, freezing gait, small handwriting, trouble sleeping, constipation, and excessive sweating.
Our supporting organization will continue to work with the facilitator to recruit guest speakers, coordinate sponsorships, house our members’ library, and solicit free materials.
If interested in becoming our facilitator, please call Pam at (320) 281-2031.
