Team Merchant – Monday League Champions


On Monday evenings at Kimball Golf Club, 48 golfers compete in three-person league play, with a mix of men and women joining together on 16 teams. The season Championship was played Monday, Aug. 23.

Championship match

Team Merchant (Jarred Merchant, Brady Faber, Cam Hunt) beat Team Heairet (Donna Heairet, Dave Johnson, Chuck Kuechle) for the 2021 Monday League Championship. Team Heairet won second place.

Third-place match

Team Zilka (Andy Zilka, Lucas Recknor, Gumby) beat Team 3 Pars & Bogey (Jamie Kurkowski, Jeff Bormann, Wayne Laudenbach).

Consolation match

Team Hartel (Larry Hartel, Charlie Kersten, Tony Schmitz) beat Team Kim-Built (Jeff Orbeck, Dustin Orbeck, Melissa Orbeck).

Middle match – 7th place

Team Gilbertson (Deb Gilbertson, Gerry Gilbertson, Kyle) beat Team Helgeson (Kurt Helgeson, Neil Helgeson, Dillon Menson).

Toilet bowl match

Team Burfeind (Keith Burfeind, Tom Luken, Ray Wells) beat team Mackereth (Al Mackereth, George Mackereth, Pat Brandt).

Friendship matches

Team Putt-Pirates (Matt Schuldt, Mitchell Grans, Nick Laudenbach, Brandon Konz) beat Team Fischer (Scott Fischer, Bill Adolph, Sara Stelton); Team -Finger (Duane Finger, John Gard, Darrel Ashfeld) beat Team Risch (Gene Risch, Dale Risch, Wanda Risch); Team O’Brien beat Team Vossens (Bob Vossen, Judy Vossen, Dan, Nicole Vossen).

Skins games

“Skins” (a prize for lowest score on a hole) were won by Team Finger (Duane Finger, John Gard, Darrel Ashfeld) with a 2 on the par 3 hole #16 and by Team Risch (Gene Risch, Dale Risch, Wanda Risch) with a 4 on the par 5 hole #17.

Weekly games

Closest second shot to the pin on hole #12 was won by Team Gilbertson (Deb Gilbertson, Gerry Gilbertson, Kyle). Longest putt on hole #14 went to Team Finger (Duane Finger, John Gard, Darrel Ashfeld). Closest to the pin on hole #16 Team was won by Team Hartel (Larry Hartel, Charlie Kersten, Tony Schmitz).

Celebration

The Monday Night League, along with the Tuesday and Wednesday Ladies and Men’s League golfers, celebrated the end of the season with a fun-time gathering at the clubhouse, with thanks to Jeff Orbeck, Dustin Orbeck, and Melissa Orbeck for their donation of the pizza.

The Club Championship

Organized competition concludes with The Club Championship on Saturday, Sept. 11.
