Enjoy beer, learn about brewing at Stearns History Museum


Cidery, four area breweries participate in new event

Enjoy an afternoon of beer, cider, and merriment at Hops & History: A Celebration of Brewing from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Stearns History Museum.

The new Oktoberfest event allows folks to taste test beverages from Bad Habit Brewing Company, Beaver Island Brewing Company, Milk & Honey Ciders, Pantown Brewing Company, and Third Street Brewhouse. Meet the brewmeisters from each establishment and learn about their creative process and brewing history. Tour the Museum and view “A Taste of Tradition: The History of Brewing in Stearns County,” a temporary exhibit that will fill our lobby through the fall. There will also be food for purchase provided by the New Munich and Sauk Rapids Area Jaycees, and sweets by Songbird Kitchens.

Cost is $25 and includes a commemorative glass. For tickets and more information, check out the Stearns History Museum website, StearnsHistoryMuseum.org, or call (320) 253-8424. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event. This is a 21 and older event.
