It was a nice journey this season for the Eden Valley-Watkins football team, picking up nine wins en route to a stop at the state tournament. However, Thursday, Nov. 11, the Eagles met their Waterloo in state tournament action versus an excellent Barnesville team. The Trojans handed the Eagles a 34-20 loss, in the Class AA State quarterfinal affair. Registering 252 total offensive yards, the Eagles threw for 141 yards and ran for 111 yards. Barnesville’s 418 total offensive output was enough to emerge victorious.
