The Watkins Community blood drive scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 28, was unfortunately cancelled due to winter weather. It’s been a challenge for the Red Cross to collect enough blood for patients due to COVID, staffing shortages, and winter weather. With more last-minute changes than normal, we ask donors to please make sure their donor profiles are updated with the best e-mail address and phone number. You can even select how you’d like to be contacted in the future (text, phone call, or e-mail). This will also guarantee you will receive any free promotional items that may be at your blood drives in the future.
You can make changes to your profile by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit http://RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). This can also be done while you’re receiving your health history check at the blood drive.
Because someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds, the community is encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate at another drive if possible. Thank you so much for all your support and dedication to helping patients in need.
