Temps holding at mid- to upper-30s, a chance of rain or snow

·

Temperatures have been cooler than average over the past several days. We did see some light snow over the weekend for the Thanksgiving weekend. Thankfully, it didn’t impact weekend travel plans much here in Minnesota.

Temperatures will turn a bit warmer for Wednesday. We should return to the lower 40s in many locations for the midweek. Some locations in southern Minnesota will reach the mid- to upper-40s in southwest Minnesota.

This warmer airmass will be short-lived as a cold front will arrive by Thursday. The front will come through dry, with no rain or snow expected.

A very weak disturbance is forecasted to arrive for the first weekend in December. Only a slight chance of moisture will be -possible over the weekend as a generally tranquil weather pattern will continue.

Weather history: On this date in 1991, parts of Minnesota received “heavy snow.” For example, New Ulm reported “16 inches of snow!”

Weather facts: Did you know that snowflakes grow on the way down from the clouds? As the crystals of ice grow, they become “heavier and fall to the ground!”
