On July 13, 2018, at 9:21 p.m. the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from 9-year-old Tyler Schindewolf saying he was trapped under an ATV with his 14-year-old cousin, Sabrina Miller. Schindewolf said Miller was not breathing. Meeker County Deputies arrived and found Schindewolf and Miller trapped under an overturned ATV in the driveway of the 54000 block of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 23, Acton Township. Meeker County Deputies were able to flip the ATV off of the juveniles.
Grove City Rescue and Gold Cross ambulance personnel began to administer first aid to both. Miller was air lifted by LifeLink III to HCMC with critical injuries. Schindewolf was transported by private party to HCMC.
The initial investigation revealed the accident is likely the result of the driver turning too sharply causing the ATV to flip over. Miller, from Glendale, Ariz., was identified as the driver. Schindewolf is from Cosmos.
