EV-W/K runners competed at the Section 6A Meet on Thursday, Oct. 25. “Great meet yesterday! We had a great race with everyone getting their season’s best time. There is nothing more that I could ask for. I am very proud of these athletes!” Coach Holly Hansen exclaimed.
Staples-Motley has historically had three or four strong runners on the girls’ team, but this year they were able to pull in the fifth one. West Central has always been a deep team. This year their first two girls ran under twenty minutes and their next two ran under 20:23. “That depth at the top of the race was the determining factor. If we could use all seven times, we would definitely have won, as we have a small gap between our runners; but that is not how it works,” added Coach Hansen. Libby Yozamp and Olivia Kuechle qualified for state meet as individuals.
