Janine Nelson of Jackson, Minn., formerly of Kimball, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2021. She was 52.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Ashley Park in Jackson.

Janine BevAnn Nelson was born June 8, 1969, in Lakefield, Minn., to Rodney Podoll and Judy Kay (Wagner) Olson. She attended Kimball Schools until her senior year when her family moved to Jackson; she would have graduated with the Class of 1987.

Janine was a free soul who touched everyone in some way or another. She was like no other, and wouldn’t have had it any other way. She was very outspoken, and loved to spend time with everyone. She loved traveling to South Padre Island in Texas and spoke of it often. Janine had a great love for sea turtles. She loved going to garage sales and thrift stores, and she loved all things antique. She had a great love for singing, and she often traveled around to sing karaoke. Janine loved her family. She was a loving aunt, and spoiled her nieces and nephews every chance she got, along with her fur babies that were her pride and joy.

Janine was preceded in death by her parents Judy Kay Olson and Rodney Podoll, and grandparents Ray and Beverly Wagner.

She is survived by her stepfather Carl Olson of Alpha, Minn.; siblings Gary Bronstad of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Brrenda (and Brent) Moritz of Jackson, Minn., Ricky (and Michelle) Bronstad of Fountain, Colo., Matthew Bronstad of Denver, Colo., and Valerie (and Richard) Jent of Kenosha, Wis.; aunts and uncles, beloved nieces and nephews, and those whom she considered her children.
