In a closely contested match, Team Krippner edged out Team Risch for the 2021 Kimball Golf Club Ladies Championship.
The Team Krippner ladies (Carol Krippner, Lila Kalla, Tara LaVoy) won by a single hole (one up) over Team Risch (Gene Risch, Dale Risch, Wanda Risch).
Third place was won by Team Lindquist (Abby Lindquist, Dawn Lindquist, Hannah Lindquist) over Team Jensen (Lois Jensen, Vicki Knaus, Kelsey Christianson, Cindy Stelten).
In the Consolation Match, Team Heairet (Donna Heairet, Rayanne Verbovanec, Jean Neisen, Dianna Swanson) beat Team Brandt (Pat Brandt, Kathie Crupi, Alice Ashwill, Valerie).
Seventh place was won by Team Spaulding (Mary Spaulding, Deb Gilbertson, Nicole Vossen, Shelly Nistler) over Team Lease (Chicki Lease, Margie Theis, Diana Henfling).
In the weekly Ladies Games, the longest putt on hole #10 was won by Team Krippner (Carol Krippner, Lila Kalla, Tara LaVoy), the Closest Second Shot on Hole #12 was won by Team Brandt (Pat Brandt, Kathie Crupi, Alice Ashwill, Valerie), and Closest to the Pin on Hole #16 was won by Team Spaulding (Mary Spaulding, Deb Gilbertson, Nicole Vossen, Shelly Nistler).
The ladies competed for “Skins” on several holes. In golf, “Skins” is a golf game in which the players compete for a prize on a hole. The name comes from the early days of golf when the prize was money and it was contained in a bag made of skin.
On the par 4 hole #14, Team Risch (Gene Risch, Dale Risch, Wanda Risch) won the skin with a one under par birdie 3. On the par 3 hole #16, Team Brandt (Pat Brandt, Kathie Crupi, Alice Ashwill, Valerie ) won the skin with a birdie 2. On the par 4 hole #18, Team Dockendorf (Mary Dockendorf, Mary Neisen, Linda Linz, Donna Schwartz) won the skin with a birdie 3.
Other Teams competing in the Ladies Championship were Team Tschumperlin (Jolene Tschumperlin, Karen Donnay, Petey Boeckmann, Mary Tonnell), Team Liedman (Barb Liedman, Kyle Grace), and Team Bormann (Julie Bormann, Hannah Kurkowski, Toni Nelson).
The Kimball Golf Club Men’s Championship is underway this week. The golf course remains open each day for public play. The course is in beautiful condition with the recent rain having helped retain the beauty and the best playing conditions of the season at Kimball Golf Club.
