The Kimball girls lost to conference rival Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, 50-29, last Friday, Dec. 19. Securing a comfortable 31-15 halftime advantage, the Jaguars were never really in doubt of claiming the win. B-B-E provided a tough full-court pressure defense during the entire contest.
The Cubs handled the pressure through the first five minutes of the game and led 5-4 until the turnover bug set in; and the Jaguars took advantage, running into halftime with a 31-15 bulge. Kimball displayed good ball movement in the second half when Taylor Schreiner was fed at the three-point line and she connected, cutting the B-B-E lead to 13. But Kimball again would not handle the pressure defense, and the Cubs would not score for the 10-minute stretch that followed.
?ÄúHandling pressure and making better decisions under pressure is something we must improve at,?Äù said coach Jeremy Kuechle. The Cubs?Äô record falls to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the CMC. Cubs?Äô Scoring: Emily Donnay, 4; Taylor Schreiner, 3; Madison Hurrle, 4; Mackenzie Leither, 8; Madelyn O?ÄôBrien, 2; Caitlin O?ÄôBrien, 1; Rebeckah Holtz, 7.
