Arletta Turner of Watkins died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 92. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with Rev. John Brunner officiating. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Arletta Turner was born May 3, 1916, in Meier Grove, Minn., to Peter and Christina (Retterath) Schneider. She married Michael Turner Sept. 27, 1954, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in El Rosa, Minn. They resided in Watkins where Arletta worked as a barmaid at K & K Liquors for many years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, and she enjoyed singing. She also was a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens. Her husband Mike died March 29, 1996. Arletta became a resident at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins about eight years ago. Arletta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, and sisters Jeanetta Holman, Caroline Deters and Marcella Walz. She is survived by her brothers and sister, Eddie (and JoAnn) Schneider of Ft. Collins, Colo., Raymond (and Irene) Schneider of Waite Park, and Adeline Schwab of Hazen, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home of Watkins.
