New London-Spicer Invitational
Thursday, Sept. 13, the EV-W-K Cross Country team competed in the New London-Spicer Invitational meet held at the Little Crow Golf Course in Spicer. Most of the teams running in this meet are the same teams we will compete against in the section 6A meet
Oct. 25, at this same location.
In the girls’ varsity race, Raelynn Callander placed 16th in a time of 16:38, Denzel Atherton 31st-17:23, Malina Roettgermann 40th-17:59, Grace Kopitzke 47th-18:21, Marisa Johnson 48th-18:23, Taylor Schreiner 54th-18:38, and Madison Libbersmeier 55th-18:42. As a team, the GV placed seventh. This was a fast-paced race with the runners finishing very close to each other.
Tyler Neu finished 82nd in the boys’ varsity race in a time of 21:16, this was another fast-paced race.
In the girls’ JV race, Stephanea Roeser placed ninth in a time of 19:15, Kendra Atherton 10th-19:16, Brooke Winter 11th-19:31, Lauren Libbesmeier 14th-19:51, Kristen Howe 16th-20:08, Seahara Mancini 17th-20:33, Kelsey Libbesmeier 27th-22:04, Alissa Jones 29th-22:56, Hannah Zipoy 33rd-23:19, Paiten Schreiner 34th-23:22 and Cheyenne Sogge 35th-25:34. The girls’ JV took first place in their race.
In the boys’ JV race, Brett Mattice placed fourth in a time of 19:48, Matthew Notch 31st-22:08, and Cameron Flaschenriem 65th-25:33.
In the girls’ JH race, Sonora Mattice placed 10th in a time of 13:21, Katie Gaslin 14th-13:39, Hannah Holmberg 19th-14:13, and Hannah Ehlinger 21st-14:17. The JH race was 2700 meters.
EV-W-K Invitational
at Kimball Golf Club
The EV-W-K Invitational meet was held at the Kimball Golf Club Thursday, Sept. 20. Teams Competing were Maple Lake, St. John’s Prep, Sauk Rapids-Rice, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Dassel-Cokato, Rockford and Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball.
In the girls’ varsity race, Raelynn Callander placed sixth in a time of 16:47, Denzel Atherton 16th-17:58, Malina Röettgermann 17th-18:02, Grace Kopitzke 22nd-18:40, Marisa Johnson 23rd-18:46, Madison Libbesmeier 24th-18:50 and Taylor Schreiner 29th-19:17. The team results were Maple Lake first, D-C second, EV-W-K third, Sauk Rapids-Rice fourth, St. John’s Prep fifth, Rockford and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted were incomplete teams.
In the girls’ junior varsity race, Brooke Winter placed fifth in a time of 18:59, Stephanea Roeser seventh-19:29, Maria Roeser eighth-19:30, Kendra Atherton 11th-19:48, Kristen Howe 18th-20:41, Seahara Mancini 19th-20:49, Lauren Libbesmeier 23rd-21:30, Erika Johnson 30th-22:41, Paiten Schreiner 36th-23:42, Alissa Jones 40th-24:10, and Cheyenne Sogge 42nd-24:36. The girls JV results were Maple Lake first, EV-W-K second and Dassel-Cokato third.
In the boys’ JV race, Brett Mattice placed third in a time of 20:13, Tyler Neu 17th-21:37 and Cameron Flaschenreim 42nd-25:14.
In the girls’ junior high race, Katie Gaslin placed sixth in a time of 8:59, Hannah Ehlinger seventh-9:00, Sonora Mattice ninth-9:07, and Hannah Holmberg 17th-10:02.
Matthew Notch placed sixth in the boys’ junior high race in a time of 7:47. The girls’ and boys’ junior high races were 2000 meters.
The EV-W-K cross country team and coaches would like to thank all those who worked to make our home meet a success, the Kimball Golf Club for letting us hold the meet there, Leo Wirth who takes time to help us set up the course and run the meet every year, and thanks to all the fans who come to cheer the runners on.
This week we have meets Tuesday, at Dassel-Cokato (Collinwood Park) and Thursday, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HL-W-W high school).
