2025 Meeker County Gardener’s Gala

The Meeker County Extension Master Gardeners are excited to offer their annual -Gardener’s Gala from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Church of
St. Philip in Litchfield, 821 East 5th Street. Register today at z.umn.edu/MeekerGardenGala25.

This year we will have guest speakers Laura Irish-Hanson from the University of Minnesota Extension and LeAnne Lund, Meeker County cut flower grower, join us for a night of education and fellowship.

During the 2025 -Gardener’s Gala, Laura will speak on -Climate-ready Gardening: Growing Flexibility. This session aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to create resilient gardens in the face of a transforming climate. -Examples of best practices for successful ornamental and edible gardens will be presented.

Meeker County cut flower grower, LeAnne Lund, offers years of experience in flower production specializing in peonies. LeAnne will teach about The Basics of Cut Flower Growing: How, Why, and Helpful Tips. This is an all-encompassing presentation covering cut flower selection, tips for harvest, and how to keep flowers all season long. In addition, LeAnne will provide information on how to arrange stunning bouquets.

The day also includes -vendors offering a wide array of services including door prizes that are drawn at the end of the night. We also will offer a handmade quilt available via a silent auction. Refreshments are sponsored by the Meeker County Horticulture Society. 

The cost of the event is $10 if you register by March 14, and at-the-door registration is $20. Registration includes access to -speakers, vendors, materials, and light refreshments.
