Pork chop dinner fundraiser May 4

President of the Forest City Threshers, Dale Groskreutz, announced that the long-awaited restroom facilities in the Women’s Activity Building are being scheduled for construction this spring. The Women’s Activity Building has been under construction for some time, and the modern updated restroom facilities is the last remaining major portion of the building to be completed. The exterior was finalized two years ago along with the window and door openings. Last year saw much of the interior completed with a new ceiling, wall sheathing, some wall shelving, and electrical wiring was also installed. With the completion of the new modern restroom facilities, the Women’s Activity Building will not only serve as a display area, but will also be able to serve as a venue for meetings, workshops, and various instructional events. President Groskreutz and many members are looking forward to the early completion of this final construction phase so that use of the new structure can be maximized.

To assist with the financing of this construction phase, President Groskreutz announced that the Forest City Threshers will host a grilled pork chop dinner from
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, May 4. Board Members will once again put their culinary skills to the test on that day, and will serve fresh-grilled, juicy pork chops along with a full meal that will include potatoes au gratin, a vegetable, and of course short cake with strawberries on top. All proceeds will be used to assist in the cost of the restrooms that are to be installed in the Women’s Activity Building.

It is anticipated that, beginning approximately at noon, Mr. Craig Kimmerle will once again be on hand to provide live music as played on the “Merrifeld” piano
which was rescued from the old Forest City Schoolhouse prior to its demolition. Mr. Kimmerle played at the roast beef dinner in March, and his performance was appreciated by all in attendance. Mr. Kimmerle has been a musician his entire life and has at his command a wide repertoire of old-time and modern songs for your listening pleasure.

President Dale Groskreutz urges everyone to come to the Forest City Threshers Dining Hall on May 4 and enjoy a great meal and good fellowship with friends and neighbors.
