Competition was fierce as Meeker County 4-H’ers gathered to participate in the annual 4-H Food Review and Demonstration Day. The event was held Saturday, March 6, at the Family Services Center in Litchfield. 4-H members set up a display showing a favorite food and questions are asked about food preparation and nutrition in an interview setting. Winners of the competition include: food review beginner champions were Tori Barka, Harvey and Anna Johnson, Litchfield Satellites. The food review intermediate champion was Josh Pearson of the Danielson Hustlers. Demonstration beginner champion honors went to Alan Barka of Harvey. Intermediate champion was Laura Hulterstrum of the Litchfield Satellites. The senior champions were Jon Barka, and Harvey and Dessirae Housman of the Cosmos Comets. Youth In Action winners were David Barka, and Harvey and Mandy Peterson of the Danielson Hustlers. Congratulations to all who participated in the event. These champions will have the opportunity to represent Meeker County at the 2004 Minnesota State Fair.
