55+ Driver Discount Program offered

The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer 55+ Driver Discount Courses on the following days: 

4-Hour Refresher Courses:

• Jan. 16 – Course 52874

9 a.m.-1 p.m., Quarryview Education Center: 800 7th St. S., Room 1-118 A&B, Waite Park.

• Jan. 16 – Course 52881

5-9 p.m., Apollo High School: Room 618 & 619, 1000 44th Ave. N., Door 19, St. Cloud.

• Jan. 18 – Course 53389

12-4 p.m., Salem Lutheran Church: Door A, 90 Riverside Dr. S.E. (use buzzer, bring sweater), St. Cloud.

• Feb. 2 – Course 53357

8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Whitney Senior Center: 1527 Northway Dr., St. Cloud.

• Feb. 6 – Course 53585

8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Sartell Community Center: 850 19th St. S., Sartell.

Courses are also available to be completed online at www.driverdiscountonline.com.

This class will save you up to 10 percent on your auto insurance. Completion of an eight-hour course qualifies you for the discount. To maintain the discount, you must complete a four-hour refresher every three years. A -Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor will update you on -defensive-driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology, and traffic safety. 

The cost of the four-hour refresher course is $24, and the eight-hour course is $28.
