The following articles were featured in the Aug. 26, 1976 Tri-County News. o 101 of 204 students passed their swimming tests. o Mrs. Elmer Johnson was awarded grand champion at the Meeker County Fair. She entered 22 different foods and won 20 ribbons. All items were entered in the baking contest. o A letter to the editor questioned if “too many bosses” in Fair Haven were trying to change the town’s name into one word Fairhaven. o Kimball Schools opened their doors to students. Lunches were $2 for a five meal pass at the elementary school and $2.25 at the high school. Twenty meal tickets sold for $8 at the elementary school and $9 at the high school. Single meals were 45 cents (elementary) and 50 cents (high school). o Kimball Chatter indicated that Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Thiel built their new home on Fair Haven road. o Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Robinson had a wood products booth at the State Fair. Townspeople were invited to stop by the booth and say “hi.” o Ervin Kraemer and Pat Flanders ran for the district 16 State Senate seat.
