Following the snow of last week, we had high pressure move in for the weekend with light winds and lots of sunshine. With the light winds, we had some freezing frost in the morning which brought some travel concerns due to visibility down to one mile or less at times.
In addition, with the clearing skies we saw overnight lows in the single digits above and below zero for much of the state over the weekend. Highs were certainly colder than normal on Saturday.
By Sunday, however, the highs climbed into the 20s and 30s with lots of sunshine and again light winds. This was a great day to be out ice skating, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing.
We could see a little bit of light snow on Wednesday as a weak disturbance is expected to push across the state. Highs will continue to be above normal for the midweek.
By this weekend, highs should remain above normal. There should be no complaints from many of us as we head towards the middle of January.
