At about 3:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call that a child had fallen off a trailer and was run over at a tree farm business in the 67000 block of MN Hwy 24, Forest City Township. Meeker County Deputies, Litchfield Rescue, Litchfield Fire, Mayo Ambulance, and Life Link Helicopter responded to the scene. When deputies arrived they learned that a 6 year old child was riding on a trailer with his parents and friends when he fell off. After falling the child was run over by the trailer. The child was airlifted to HCMC with internal injuries, the extent of injuries was unknown but not believed to be life threatening. The trailer and vehicle were privately owned and operated. No employees of the business were involved with the incident. No one else was injured and the incident was deemed an accident.
