Kimball Area High School Students saw Warren C. Bowles perform as Dr. Martin Luther King in “Dr. King’s Dream” last Thursday. The performance followed the civil rights leader from the Montgomerey bus boycott to his death in Memphis, including his “I have a dream” speech. He captured King’s dignitity, devotion, courage and humanity. The performance was by Mixed Blood Theatre Company of Minneapolis. Bowles has been performing this part in schools for many years in 20 states, primarily Minnesota and Wisconsin. “We think we’ve had grand advances in race relations,” he said. “As I travel around the country our views about race haven’t changed since the height of [Dr. King’s] years. We have a lot of work to do, and I want the kids to think about that.”
