If yes, attend the Advanced Cottage Food Producer Food Safety Workshop Saturday, May 7, at the University of Minnesota Extension Regional Office, St. Cloud. Two sessions to choose from 9 a.m.-noon, and 1-4 p.m. Registration is limited to 25 per class session.
This advanced safe food handling course focuses on aspects of cottage food products including baked, confectionery, dried, fruit preserves and, acid and acidified fruit and vegetables. You will learn how to produce, package and label a safe food product. This workshop meets the training requirement to register as a Minnesota cottage food producer with annual sales $5,001-$18,000 per year. Individuals with gross receipts of less than $5,000 per calendar year may attend this course or complete the online training course at www.mda.state.mn.us/licensing/licensetypes/cottagefood.aspx.
