Agnes Hinz of Kimball died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the St. Cloud Hospital. She was 91. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Mark Willenbring officiating. Burial followed in Kimball Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Agnes Katherine Hinz was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Morrill to John and Mary (Ritzko) Florek. She married George Edwin Hinz April 30, 1942, in St. Cloud; he preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1961, at the age of 55. Together they farmed in Maine Prairie Township until 1946 when they purchased a farm in the city limits of Kimball. She remained on the farm until moving in with her daughter in 2001. Agnes had been a resident of Hilltop Care Center in Watkins for three weeks. She was a homemaker and farm hand to her husband and later her son. She took pride and pleasure in helping with the dairy cows, calves, tending to the steers that she always referred to as her “boys”, and her many barn cats. Agnes was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she received enjoyment and took pride in all of their accomplishments. She was a long-time member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, stepfather Martin Dehler Sr., grandson Keith Robinson, sister Frances Chmielewski, brothers Henry and Edward Florek, stepsisters Alvina Lachinski, Marie DeMars and Ida Dehler, and stepbrothers Raymond and Martin Dehler. She is survived by her children Janet (and Jerry) Robinson and Harvey (and Mary) Hinz, all of Kimball; grandchildren Tracy (and Pat) Frank of Wells, Travis (and Robin) Robinson of St. Michael, Tania Robinson (and fiance Chadd Novak) of River Falls, Wis., Amy (and Ryan) Olson of St. Cloud, and Emily (and Jim) Colberg of Annandale; great-grandchildren Jordyn and James Colberg of Annandale; sisters-in-law Abbie Holladay of Sauk Rapids, Lilly Wittenberg of Annandale, Agnes Nessa of Chanhassen, Ada Quist of Minneapolis, and Ida Hinz of Milltown, Wis.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Pat Frank, Chadd Novak, Ryan Olson, Jim Colberg, Raymond Dehler Jr., and Kevin Florek. Music for the funeral was provided by St. Anne’s choir and organist Mary Streit.
