Alice S. Loesch of Pearl Lake died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 70. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake. Friends called after 4 p.m. Monday and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers were at 4 p.m. and the Christian Mothers prayed at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Alice was born in Clearwater to John and Emma (Dropp) Prom. She married Claude Loesch Aug. 12, 1960, in St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Alice was a homemaker who loved caring for her family and her many foster children. She attended high school in Clear Lake, and received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Rochester. She met some of her many friends while working at the bank in Kimball. For more than 10 years, she organized a summer social for persons with disabilities. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching baseball, volunteering for hospice, seving as a foster care provider, and just being with her family. Anyone who knew her was touched by her presence. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Christian Mothers. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, and son,Matthew. She is survived by her husband Claude; children Teresa (and John) Wieneke of Pearl Lake, Joyce (and Tim) Theis of Oregon, Joe (and fiancee Lynn) Loesch of Ellsworth, Wis., Joan (and Mike) Schlangen of Luxemburg, Mike Loesch of Pearl Lake, Barb (and Dan) Waldorf of Pearl Lake, and Steve Loesch of Cold Spring; sisters Louise Dalquist, Leona May and Emma Walker; and her grandchildren Jeremy, Mitchell, Ryan, Alexandra, Sydney, Sam, Molly, Amy and Devin.
