Alison Johnson, 70

Alison Johnson has died.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 12-3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Kimball American Legion (201 Main St. S., Kimball MN 55353).
Alison Sue Kemery was born June 26, 1954, in LaSalle, Ill., to Melvin and Elaine Kemery. Her father Melvin was NCIS, naval intelligence, so the family moved from Minneapolis to Kansas City and eventually ended up in Indianapolis, Ind. She graduated from Northwest High School, and later went to Indiana University to pursue a degree in Physical Education. She then switched career paths and pursued a career in accounting, retiring at age 55.
Alison met her husband Duane in Excelsior, Minn., when they were introduced by mutual friends. They dated for a year and were later married in Minnetonka on May 28, 1994. They were fortunate to vacation three to four months a year consistently for 10 years in the Florida Keys, and later Gulf Shores, Ala. for nine years. Together they enjoyed the adventure of travel, riding the Harley, watching game shows and, above all, each other’s company.
Alison was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jolaine, son-in-law William Baert, and daughter Jill Rodgers.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Duane “Duke” Johnson, grandson Erick (and Ashley), daughter Susanne Baert, sister Sandra Kemery (and Jeff) Schulz of Brownsburg, Ind., and brother Curtis Kemery of Indianapolis, Ind.; nieces Jennifer (and Jeremy) Zollars and their children Makayla and Gavin of Avon, Ind., and Brittney (and Zach) Lambert of Brownsburg, Ind.; grandchildren Kobe, Riley and Bode Baert; great-grandchildren Ashauntai (and Devin) Smith, Trayten Johnson, and DaShawn Rohlik.
