Two local all stars were nominated to compete in the All Star Tournament at Sunshine Park in Andover, Aug. 10-12. Ellyanna Danielson and Riley Fischer were nominated to play in the 10U division after successfully competing in the Crow River Softball League this summer. The All Star tournament is a great way to recognize community players for the commitment they made to the game of softball. The players nominated were all stars in every sense of the term, they are great players and great kids.
Opening ceremonies were Friday, Aug. 10, during which they met their team members and were individually announced for all in attendance; the evening ended with the playing of our national anthem. In total, there were 120 girls who played in the 10U division from the state of Minnesota. The teams played three games and participated in FLEXX events. Both teams played well and the talent amongst all players was incredible! Ellyanna and Riley participated in the 60-foot sprint, exit velocity and arm strength as part of the FLEXX events. The girls did very well in these events and played like all stars during the games.
