Allen Spath, 84

Allen Spath of Royalton, Minn., died Sept. 17, 2003, from cancer. He was 84. He will be buried Sept. 26 at Waverly, Minn. Allen N. Spath was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Mineapolis to Fredrick and Mary Spath. He attended and graduated high school in Minneapolis. After working as a streetcar driver, he entered U.S. military service. He served his country and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Maxine LeVasseur June 4, 1949. His lifetime career was working as a Minnesota highway patrolman. He later worked for the Interstate Commerce Commission. Allen was also a pilot and loved to fly. He farmed and was very close to nature. He loved all animals. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Marsyl Crowe. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maxine; children Marie (and Ken) Beck of Moorhead, Marilyn (and Dave) Tessier of Horace, N.D., Mary (and Dale) Loch of Watkins, Monica (and Bob) Wolcott of Hayfield, Minn., Myron (and Kim) Spath of Maple Grove; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
