Alvin Dockendorf of Annandale died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at the Buffalo Hospital. He was 74.
Mass of Christian Burial took place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with Rev. John Brunner officiating. A private family interment followed.
Alvin M. Dockendorf was born May 30, 1929, to Wendel and Stephania (Kalkbrenner) Dockendorf in Watkins. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Castle on April 23, 1982, in Buffalo. Dockendorf was employed at the Hiawatha Rubber Company in Brooklyn Center for many years prior to his retirement in 1994. Upon retirement, Alvin and Bonnie moved to Annandale where they have resided ever since. Dockendorf was an avid sports fan and in his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball. Alvin had been experiencing health problems and was last hospitalized at the Buffalo Hospital.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Wendel and Stephania Dockendorf; and brothers Fred and James Dockendorf.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Annandale; son Daniel (and Tracy) Dockendorf of Howard Lake; step-children Ron (and Debbie) Simons of Annandale, Rick Simons of Knob Noster, Mo., Randy (and Melody) Simons of Annandale, Rodney (and Kim) Simons of Annandale, and Tim (and Kari) Aeshliman of Elk River; twelve grandchildren; sister Marion (and Ralph) Carlson of Litchfield; sister-in-law Delores Dockendorf of Watkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Casketbearers were Ron Dockendorf, Joe Dockendorf, Bob Dockendorf, Ron Simons, Randy Simons and Rodney Simons. Honorary casketbearers were Rick Simons and Don Dockendorf. Arrangements were made by the Ertl Funeral Home of Watkins.
