Daffodil Days is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. By ordering this first flower of spring through the Daffodil Days campaign, you are supporting the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving patient services, educational programs and Nobel prize-winning research, and you are providing hope for a world free of cancer. Bouquets and other products are ordered during January and February and delivered in March. Orders are being taken by the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 March 5-11 (call 320-398-5785) and will be available for sale Sunday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church following services. Elementary school children are also selling Daffygrams for $1 each (see Deb Schmidt). Available for sale: Bunches of Daffodils (approximately 10 daffodils) for $8; Bunch and a Vase for $10 (10 daffodils and a vase); Gift of Hope for $15 (bouquet of daffodils set in a vase delivered anonymously to cancer patients – the Gift of Hope is not delivered to specific cancer patients nor are donors’ names attached to a gift); Bear and a Bunch for $25 (2007 marks the addition of Hugh R. Hope, a special Boyds Bear designed exclusively for Daffodil Days that can be ordered as part of the Bear and a Bunch – with $25 donation, you’ll receive the bear and a bunch of daffodils); and the Sunshine Bouquet for $75 (filled with six bouquets of daffodils and fresh greenery, this arrangement features a glass vase).
