Anderson at North Pole

·

Darrin Anderson (KAHS class of ’84) is one of 84 crew members on the USS Hampton, a fast-attack submarine. April 19, the Hampton and British sub HMS Tireless surfaced at the North Pole during joint maneuvers. The two crews met on the ice, conducted some ice experiments, and enjoyed hitting golf balls and playing football for several hours at the “top of the world.” The joint exercise also prove that the American and British Navies can travel freely in all the world’s oceans. Anderson enjoys receiving the Tri-County News. He has been in contact with classmate Karla (Knaus) Ehlinger’s children at Holy Cross School. Anderson lives in Virginia and plans to come home to Kimball for his class reunion in August.
