Andrew Carlson, 86
Andrew Carlson died on March 17, 2003, at the Annandale Care Center. He was 86 years old.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. David Doppenberg and Rev. Scott Jakel officiating. Interment followed in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Annandale.
Andrew Cornelius Carlson was born July 3, 1916, in Knapp, Minn., to Frank and Alvina (Peterson) Carlson. He was baptized and confirmed at North Crow River Church and grew up in the Knapp area. Andy married Evelyn Gunderson on Sept. 29, 1944. On October 2, 1948, their son Edwin Andrew was born; he died on Feb. 1, 1949, at the age of four months. Andy spent some time in the 1930s working for the Conservation Corp Camp. He was a farmer all his life and he loved country life. He retired from farming and continued to live on the farm by Granite Lake. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, brothers Richard and Walter Carlson, and sisters-in-law Mathilda Carlson and Edna Carlson. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn; brothers Lawrence (and Florentine) Carlson, Ells-worth Carlson, and Carl (and Norma) Carlson; sisters Genevieve (and Gordon) Larson, Verona (and Carl) Broman; sister-in-law Mildred Carlson; 28 nieces and nephews, and five god-children.
Casket bearers were Brian Larson, Steve Carlson, Ronald Carlson, Jim Larson, Richard Carlson and Larry Carlson. Music was provided by Orma-oue Jacobsma and Bev Sorensen. Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato.
