Andrew G. Westrup of South Haven – formerly of Minneapolis and Eden Valley – died on April 22, 2003, at the age of 66. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. Rev. Virgil Braun officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Friends called from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday and 9-10:15 a.m. on Monday at Dingmann’s Eden Valley Funeral Home. Parish prayers were at 7 p.m., followed by Eden Valley American Legion Post 381 at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in Eden Valley. Andrew was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Manannah Township (rural Meeker County) to John and Amanda (Berg) Westrup. He married Jane Lekander on July 3, 1959, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. He was a foreman at 3M in Hutchinson, installed dairy equipment, owned and operated Gaspar’s Grocery in Eden Valley, and most recently was a maintenance supervisor at various apartment buildings in Minneapolis until retiring in January 2003. Andrew was a member of Eden Valley American Legion Post 381 and former member of Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Marie Wagner and Carol Geiske; and brothers-in-law Phil Wagner, Herb Lahr and Jack Nistler. He is survived by his wife Jane of South Haven; children: Keith (and Betty) Westrup of Rockford, Kim Westrup of Watkins, Kari (and Leonard) Siltanen of Barnum, Kathy (and Flavian) Kramer of Watkins, Kurtis (and Rita) Westrup of Oceanside, Calif., and Kevin (and Reeya) Westrup of St. Louis Park; brother and sisters Dorothy Nistler of Eden Valley, Julia Lahr of St. Cloud, Jim (and Rosie) Westrup of Westminster, Calif., and Margie (and John) Winkler of St. Michael; brother-in-law Dale Geiske of Wahkon; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
