Annual “Creative Sewing Expo”

The tenth Creative Sewing Expo is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28. The expo is designed for home sewers, teachers and home business owners, and attracts more than 350 participants each year. Lisa Mandell will present “Fashions for 2004” at the general session. Mandell’s collection of garments includes a variety of styles that reflect the looks we see in “ready-to-wear clothing lines.” Garments will be shown sewn in knits, fine fashion fabrics, fleece and more. Mandell will share some secrets for success that she uses when constructing garments. Learn to adapt patterns to mimic “ready-to-wear.” Sewing Expo participants will choose from a wide variety of workshop topics including “Sewing Children’s Clothing,” “Northwoods Paperpiecing,” “Fleece Embellishment,” and many more. An evening session will take place Friday, Feb. 27. Participants can choose from two sessions: “Twinkling Stars – A Fat Quarter Quilt” and “Octagonal Table Topper.” These sessions are for quilters who have experience with cutting and piecing.
