Another Kimball Days done and gone

·

Special thanks to everyone who attended, worked or volunteered at this year’s Kimball Days. Both the old favorites and new events were well-attended this year. We had perfect weather and attendance was up at every event. Obviously, the hard work that Chris and I put into the festival over the course of the past year paid off. We both absolutely love what we do and we hope you all enjoy every aspect of the festival. A new addition that I was excited about was the singing of the Star Spangled Banner prior to the softball games. Diana Hentges and Stacy Jurgens sang Friday night and I asked Ryan Rice to sing on Sunday prior to the championship game; he was honored. Thank you to Pat Arnold and the Kimball Express for allowing me to use the P.A. system. Also, thanks to DuWayne Orbeck and Jill Holte for getting flags to have at the field. Chris and I already have notes started for next year. It is always great to see people enjoying themselves, visiting and sharing. It’s even more special when you’ve had a hand in creating what you see, as Chris and I do. Chris and I have served as the Kimball Days planning committee for six years now. I have also organized the softball tournament for 10 years; we had 18 teams this year. Volunteering is dear to my heart, it is a powerful part of anyone’s life. If any of you would like to share in this feeling, please join Chris and me for next year’s festival. As I’ve said before, “Well, partner-in-crime, we did it.” Another great year done and gone. What a great team we make. Thank you for the ear on Sunday, my friend. Deb Reinert, Kimball Days co-chair and Main Street Pub manager
