Another tough week for the Cubs

Cubs Fall to top-ranked Eagles     Kimball Cubs boys’ basketball hosted Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles Tuesday, Jan. 6.     The first quarter ended with the Cubs trailing 18-13 but then the Eagles took over. The Eagles finished the game shooting over 50 percent, and ended up beating the Cubs 73-31. Preston Looman, a bright spot for the Cubs, finished the game with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles were led by Alex Neisen who ended with 27 points. The Cubs also got six points from Aaron Rossman and five points from Joe Masberg. Cubs cannot settle the Pioneers The Cubs traveled to Pierz Jan. 9 to take on the Pioneers. The Pioneers upended the Cubs with a final score of 72-34. The Cubs were again led by Preston Looman who finished with 11 points and Aaron Rossman who ended the game with a double-double, dumping in 10 points and adding 10 rebounds. We have had a rough week but we are going to remain positive and focus on our next opponent. The Cubs next travel to St. John’s Tuesday, Jan. 13, to face St. John’s Prep.
