?ÄòFargo?Äô to film in Alberta

·

The third season of the popular FX Network series ?ÄúFargo?Äù will be filmed in Beiseker, Alberta, Canada. This was announced last week. The village of 785 people is about 70  km (40 miles) northeast of Calgary.  Some scenes of the movie ?ÄúBrokeback Mountain?Äù were filmed in the area.

Robert Hilton, lead location manager, said the executive producers loved how closely Beiseker resembles Eden Valley, the locale of season 3. ?ÄúThe town fits absolutely perfect to the story. We couldn?Äôt build it better in a back lot,?Äù Hilton told the Rocky View Weekly.

Filming is scheduled for Jan. 6 to May 13, and it?Äôs likely to be for 1-3 days at a time. Other locations in Alberta will be used as well.

The story is set in Eden Valley from Dec. 13, 2010, to Jan. 7, 2011, more or less. The January to May shooting schedule should ensure a snowy backdrop for the series.

Beiseker mayor Ray Courtman is very pleased ?ÄúFargo?Äù chose his village for filming. He hopes it will bring new businesses to Main Street.
