NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A

LIVESTOCK FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statues, Chapter 116, that Dennis Libbesmeier Farms, has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency of the county of Stearns for a permit to construct or expand a feedlot with a capacity of 500 animal units or more.

The existing and/or proposed feedlot is located in the T121N R029W NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 6 in Maine Prairie Township of Stearns County, Minnesota at 13603 Balsam Road, Watkins. The existing facility consists of 499 animal units of cattle: dairy cows over 1,000 lbs, dairy calves, beef slaughter steers/heifers housed in complete confinement and partial confinement buildings, outdoor lots; with deep bed pack manure storage and concrete under barn liquid manure storage area. The proposed facility will consist of 699 animal units of cattle: 15 beef cow calf pairs,
457 beef slaughter steers/heifers, 320 beef feeder cattle and a proposed 54’x216’ total confinement slatted barn with a 54’x216’x12’ concrete under barn liquid manure storage area, 24’x46’ animal handling area with drive through feeding area that is 20’x240’ and also includes the listed above existing complete and partial confinement facilities, outdoor lots and concrete under barn manure storage area. The total animal unit capacity will be 699.

This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.
