Assault and robbery in Cokato An assault and robbery occurred at Daniel’s Restaurant in Cokato, at 3:07 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004. The owner of Daniel’s Restaurant, Pamela Braatz, 40, of Cokato had just closed and was walking to her vehicle behind the restaurant. Braatz was confronted from behind while attempting to enter the vehicle and was forced back into the building by an unidentified male displaying a knife. The suspect ordered Braatz to unlock the front door and then pushed her inside. He proceeded to remove a small amount of cash from the cash register. Braatz was then forced to the downstairs office where the suspect took a bank bag with an undisclosed amount cash and fled through a back door. Braatz was not seriously injured in the robbery. Deputies searched the restaurant and immediate areas with a K-9 Unit but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build and a soft-spoken voice. He was reportedly wearing black pants, a black long-sleeved sweatshirt, black gloves and a black ski mask. The incident is under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the sheriff’s office at (763) 682-1162 Motorcycle/deer accident, Clearwater The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident with injuries on County Road 75, about 1 mile east of 221 St. East in Lynden Township. Clearwater Fire and Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the call. Jason Lauermann, 28, of Clearwater, was riding his motorcycle at 9:45 p.m. Friday, July 9, when a deer ran onto the roadway. Lauermann hit the deer and crashed. He was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance and treated for his injuries.
