At 12:20 p.m.Wednesday, Oct. 24, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about an assault with a gun at a residence in the 34300 block of 617th Avenue in Eden Valley. The victim said his adult son took a gun away from him then threw him to the ground. The victim said his son then put the gun to his neck and pulled the trigger. The gun jammed and did not fire. Deputies responded and the son was identified as Timothy Scholtes, 55 of Eden Valley. Scholtes fled the scene before deputies arrived, and he was later arrested in Eden Valley, without incident, for the assault. He is being held in the Meeker County Jail pending a court appearance. The victim received minor injuries during the altercation that did not require medical attention.
