Auxiliary attends 6th Dist. convention

The Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 attended the 6th District Convention June 1-3 in Bemidji. Presiding over the convention was president Kaye Peoples, of Aitkin. From Kimball, LuAnn Marschel served as sergeant-at-arms, Abby Zenzen as secretary’s page, and Renee Berscheid was a poppy contest judge. Carrying colors for the Kimball Unit were Dori Hamilton and Colette VanVleet. Awards received for annual reports included citations for: Children & Youth, Community Service, Education, Junior Activities, Memorial, and Poppy; and Honorable Mention for Americanism, Junior History, Legislation, National Security, and Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation. Unit 261 met 100 percent of the membership goal, and went above to reach an all time high. Congratulations to the entire unit for all their hard work carrying forward American Legion & Auxilairy programs. The Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 2007-2008 officers are: president Carol Santone-Royal, first vice president Lia Nistler, second vice president Heather Santone, treasurer JoAnn Hendricks, secretary Cindy May, sergeant-at-arms Dori Hamilton, executive committee Anita Hoefer and Sharon Jewison, chaplain Gloria Zoller, historian Renee Berscheid and parlimentarian Abby Zenzen.
