The James Sewell Ballet will perform at the St. Cloud Paramount Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. A pre-performance discussion and improvisation led by James Sewell Ballet staff and dancers will begin 7:35 p.m. The St. Cloud performance will include “Made in America,” “Zenas,” and “New Ballet #1.” James Sewell Ballet’s St. Cloud activities are underwritten by grants from the American Express Philanthropic Program and the National Endowment for the Arts. Single tickets for the St. Cloud performance will go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 18. They can be purchased online at www.paramountarts.org, or by calling the Paramount Ticket Office at (320) 259-5463. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for students, $17 for seniors 65 and older, and $17 for groups. James Sewell, a Minneapolis native, founded the ballet company in New York in 1990 and relocated the company to Minnesota in 1993. The chamber-sized ensemble of eight dancers presents Sewell’s contemporary ballet choreography. They have performed in nearly 50 Minnesota communities, 25 states and Bermuda.
