The Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Beautify Kimball Contest to encourage residents and businesses to make Kimball a more beautiful place to live and work. The contest is open to all city properties and rural properties within five miles of city limits. Home business properties such as day-cares will be considered commercial properties. Past winners are eligible after three years. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories. Individual category Overall Kimball area “show place” – $100. Most colorful and interesting yard – $50. Most improved home landscaping – $50. Commercial category Most attractive landscaping – $75. Most improved – $75. Nomination forms can be found in the Tri-County News July 3 and 10, or can be picked up at the State Bank of Kimball. Nominations are due by August 1 and can be mailed to the chamber address on the bottom of the form or dropped at the State Bank of Kimball. Judging will take place the week of August 4-8, with winners announced in the paper August 21.
