New half-day event for small, medium-sized businesses

Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota® (BBB) is a sponsor of Cyber Security Summit 2015 Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20-21, in Minneapolis. The focus of this Summit is to educate attendees on cyber threats and provide actionable solutions to this growing problem, which affects and threatens every sector from the business world to academic institutions and government agencies.

New this year, in conjunction with the full Cyber Security Summit, is a standalone half-day event Tuesday, Oct. 20, that puts the focus on small and medium-sized businesses. This event is recommended for companies that aren?Äôt big enough to have a Chief Information Officer (CIO) or in-house IT specialist to manage online security strategies.

?ÄúWe?Äôre big supporters of the Cyber Security Summit, period,?Äù said Lisa Jemtrud, Director of BBB?Äôs Institute for Marketplace Ethics. ?ÄúHowever, this half-day event is a terrific opportunity for smaller to mid-sized businesses to learn about best practices as far as keeping data secure.?Äù

The agenda for this half-day event, Cyber Security for Small and Middle Markets, includes: The Fundamentals of Cyber Security; Solutions to Common Small Business Cyber Problems; Turning Cyber Security into a Competitive Advantage; and Are You Cyber Resilient?
