The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the St. Anthony Parish Center in Watkins Wednesday, May 30, from 1-6:30 p.m. There is a need for blood donations – if you are at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and are in good general health, you could be elibible to give blood. Eligible donors may donate a unit of blood every 56 days. When planning to give blood, eat iron-rich foods prior to giving. Almost 97 percent of the population will need a unit of blood in their lifetime, but only 5 percent actually give blood. Give blood, give life; make the commitment.
