The American Red Cross is looking for donors like you. The Kimball Bloodmobile will be at the Playland Ballroom from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29. The need for donated blood increases each year, and summer is always a difficult time to maintain the volunteer blood supply at sufficient levels. There is a great need for new and loyal donors. Some areas are down to a one or two-day supply of blood. Donating blood is easy: you must be at least 17 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. It takes about an hour of your time and gives you a chance to visit with friends and neighbors. There is a need for blood every two seconds. While 60 percent of Americans are eligible to donate, only about five percent do. If you or someone you love needed blood, you would want it to be available. You can help now by donating at the Kimball bloodmobile. The need is real and the time is now. Blood donation has been steadily declining over the past 10 years. Please consider donating a unit of blood at the Playland Ballroom July 29. Walkins are welcome but you can make an appointment by calling Audrey at (320) 398-5381 or Trish at (320) 398-6345. Please join us in helping to save lives.
