The Kimball Express traveled to the Litchfield Blues Friday night, June 9, for an exhibition game. The Blues scored early and maintained their lead to the 4-3 finish.
Ed Estrada Jr led the Blues from the plate with a pair of doubles for 2 RBI. Joey Hyde hit a double and a single for 1 RBI. Winky Estrada also hit a double. Ed Hulterstrum and Avery Liestman each hit a single for the Blues.
Joey Hyde earned the win for the Blues. He struck out 2 and limited the Express to 1 hit during his inning on the mound. Ben Alsleben pitched the first seven innings, allowing the 3 Express runs on 9 hits; he struck out 5 and walked 3. Jack Ramthun pitched an inning in relief.
Skylor Gruba is tagged with the loss. He pitched the final inning, allowing 1 run on 1 hit, and striking out 2. Brooks Marquardt started the game, pitching seven innings; he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits while striking out 2.
