Jan. 23, 2007 Kimball 40 – St. John’s Prep 59 On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the Cubs met up with the Johnnies from St. John’s Prep. The first half of the game was dictated by the defensive effort of the Cubs. Kimball held St. John’s to just 14 points, while scoring 31. The second half was played more evenly. The Cubs outscored the Johnnies 20 to 19 to take a 51-33 win. Scoring was very balanced as four players reached double figures (Adam Magnuson, 11, Logan Looman, 11, Scott Nystrom, 11,and Karl Hunt, 10). Adam Magnuson pulled down 11 rebounds in the game and Karl Hunt added six steals. Jan. 25, 2007 Kimball 62 – Rockford 84 Thursday night the Cubs hosted the Rockford Rockets. In the first half, the teams battled back and forth. Rockford built an early lead, but the Cubs fought back to cut it to 27-24. An 11-3 run late in the half gave Rockford a 38-27 lead at intermission. Rockford started the second half in the same way they closed the first. They built on the lead and ended up winning by a score of 84-62. Adam Magnuson and Jeff Hunt led the team in scoring with 19 and 14 points respectively. Adam also added seven rebounds.
