A special meeting of the Kimball school board was held Tuesday evening, July 31, for the purpose of interim superintendent candidate discussion. KAHS principal Erik Widvey was invited to the meeting. After nearly 50 minutes of discussion and questions, the board met in closed session and unanimously agreed to move forward with negotiating a one-year interim superintendent contract with Widvey who has been at Kimball 12 years.
Superintendent Jim Wagner tendered his resignation at the July 18 board meeting, and the board accepted it. Wagner will go to Buffalo, Wyoming, where he will be superintendent of a district with 1,700 students in five buildings. His last day here will be Sept. 1. School starts in Kimball Aug. 27.
